Membership Info

We are accepting applications for new members and invite you to golf with us on Monday, May 2, at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course (www.tamoshantergolf.com).  You have a choice of either joining our 18-hole or 9-hole league.  Just click here to join SCWAGA today.

Our 18-Hole League
Our 18-holers enjoy a very organized league.  All 18-hole players must have a GHIN handicap index (your membership fee does not include GHIN membership).  New members must live, work or play in a league within Stark County.

We are divided into flights by handicap.  All you need do to play is sign up each month at the course as to whether you are able to play.

Our 18-holers will begin play on Monday, May 2, 2011, 8:30 a.m. at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course and will play through September 26.  Click here for the entire season.

For further information concerning our 18-holers, please click here to contact Loretta Gerber, president.

Our 9-Hole League
Our 9-hole players also have a well organized league called New Neighbors (NNL).  This group stays busy all year-round with luncheons, programs, and local golf trips.  During league, our 9-hole league tees off Monday mornings (usually on the opposite course from the 18-hole group).  League play begins on Monday, May 2, 9:00 a.m. at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course and will play through September 26.  Click here for the entire season.

Their playing format includes different events each week.  A spring luncheon and fall banquet are a fitting beginning and ending to a fun-filled season.

9-hole players do not require a handicap/GHIN number.

Please click here to contact LeeAnn Chievitz, Chairperson of the 9-holers for further information.

In addition to league play, you can also participate in the following events:

23rd Annual Team Tournament
Will be held on Wednesday, July 6, at 8:30 a.m. on the Dales Course at Tam O’Shanter.

All players must either live or work and must have played at least 4 times at a single course in Stark County within the last 12 months from July 1, 2010, to July 1, 2011.

A team may consist of up to 12 ladies with a minimum of 7 players per team with a verifiable USGA handicap.

This prestigious event, representing both public and private golf courses is also one of our biggest fundraisers, supporting our Junior Girls Scholarship Fund.

SCWAGA 36-Hole Championship
Will be held on Monday, August 1 and 8, for our 18-hole league, playing both the Dales and Hills Courses, respectively.

Overall low gross and low net winners are determined, using the two-day total.  Each flight is also represented by a low gross and low net winner.

4-Lady Team Scramble
On August 29, both 9- and 18-hole players participate in this event at Tam O’Shanter.

Teams are paired on the basis of handicaps.  The scramble is followed by a delicious lunch and awards.

Membership for Non-Members of the
SCWAGA Monday Morning League
If you do not wish to be a member of the Monday Morning League, you may also join SCWAGA as a non-member of the league.

You will be required to pay a $5 fee to cover newsletter printing and mailing as well as scholarship expenses.

As you can see, SCWAGA is more than just a golf league.  It’s an opportunity to meet other women, enjoy different golfing venues while supporting and promoting junior girls golf.
